The Firm
Established in 2009, Infinity 8 Investments, LLC is an investment adviser registered with the State of California and is located in Sunnyvale, California. We provide independent fee-based discretionary and non-discretionary investment management services to individuals, small business owners, trusts, special needs trusts, charitable remainder unitrust,corporations and business entities; under the Infinity 8 Investments, LLC Wrap Fee Program.

Our Philosophy  
We believe the economy and the business cycle are key determinants for developing and managing a long-term investment strategy. Since varying opportunities and risks arise throughout the business cycle, we believe that your portfolio allocation should be dynamic as the economy in each business cycle. Therefore, we do not practice rebalancing to static asset allocation models. Instead, Infinity 8 Investments employs an active asset allocation approach which adjusts as the economy navigates through each business cycle and equally as important when the economy begins to make its critical shift during the peak and bottom of the cycle.

Our active asset allocation approach  aims to deliver consistent long-term returns while attempting to minimize cyclical capital loss exposure by regularly evaluating key economic and stock, bond, and commodity market data to determine where the economy is along the business cycle. We then build and rebalance a portfolio using an asset allocation mix that we believe represents asset classes that have historically perform well, while limiting exposure to asset classes that have historically under performed.  This process is repeated throughout each business cycle.

Sean Akiyama - Founder and Investment Strategist - Before heading off to college, Sean's first stint in the financial services industry began as an ATM clerk at the National Bank of Fort Sam Houston on Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa, Japan. A position which often required a K9 unit escort. He began investing while working his way through college. His financial services career started in 1993 when he joined Merrill Lynch. Sean has overseen hundreds of client portfolios and has experienced several industry shifting changes during the past eighteen years. His investment product, market, and economic knowledge is a cumulation of ongoing personal research, experience gained while at Merrill Lynch, Fidelity Investments, Charles Schwab; and from past and present relationships with clients, financial and business professionals.

Throughout his career, Sean has always felt that servicing, advising and developing relationships was best achieved face-to-face. At Merrill Lynch, he was with the Private Client Group and was responsible for developing a suitable investment plan based on the clients' financial plan findings. At Fidelity Investments, he served as the branch fixed income coordinator and was responsible for evaluating clients' portfolios, retirement plans, and recommending suitable retirement income strategies. While at Charles Schwab, Sean was responsible for servicing and guiding a client base of $300 million in assets and served as the regional coordinator between independent advisors that were with the Charles Schwab Advisor Network and local Charles Schwab branch offices. Sean also provided guidance and advice to Charles Schwab Private clients that preferred face-to-face relationships over call center based advisory relationships.

Sean is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/ Marketing. Sean also holds the Chartered Financial Consultant designation and is a licensed Life and Health insurance agent with the State of California (license # OE23305).

- Infinity 8 Investments, LLC has selected Fidelity Investments as the client account custodian. Fidelity Investments provide the firm with operational, research, technology support services, and account data services via Advent Software. Primary market, economic, industry and company data is provided through Factset Research.
